Gaanit — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

Gaanit ("we", "us", "the app") is a free educational games app for children aged 5–10. We take children's privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. Gaanit is designed to comply with the Google Play Families Policy and applicable children's privacy laws (including COPPA and GDPR-K).

The short version

Information we handle

Gameplay & progress data. Stars, scores, streaks, levels, badges, coins and which games have been played. This is stored on the device and, if cloud sync is enabled, backed up so progress can be restored across devices.

A profile nickname & avatar. When a child profile is created, you may enter a first name or nickname and pick an avatar. This is optional, stored to personalise the greeting ("Hi Sam! 👋"), and is not used to identify or contact anyone.

An anonymous app identifier. To save and sync progress, the app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which assigns a random ID. This ID is not linked to a real-world identity, email or phone number.

Technical & diagnostic data. To keep the app stable we use Google Firebase services that may process device information (such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language and crash logs) and basic, aggregated usage events. This is used only to operate, fix and improve the app — never for advertising or profiling, and never to track children across other apps or websites.

Optional parent accounts

Playing Gaanit needs no account at all. A parent or guardian may optionally create or link an account — using an email address and password, or Sign in with Google or Apple — so a child's progress can be saved and restored across devices. If you choose to do this, we collect the parent's email address and, for Google or Apple sign-in, the name on that account. This information is used only to operate the account and sync progress; it is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes. You can delete it at any time (see how to delete your account).

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, advertising identifiers, or any sensitive personal information.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config and App Check) to run the app's sync, stability and configuration. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's terms. Learn more at firebase.google.com/support/privacy. We do not use any advertising or marketing SDKs.

How information is used

We do not use information to build advertising profiles or to track users across other apps or websites.

Data retention & deletion

Progress data is kept while the app is in use. You can clear all on-device data at any time from your device settings, or by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of any cloud-synced data associated with your app, email us at support@gaanit.com and we will delete it.

Parental rights

As a parent or guardian you can review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of your child's information by contacting us at support@gaanit.com.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
